Customer/Gift Certificate Balance
« on: July 10, 2013, 03:23:32 am »
Emre,

When an account is in credit (their money) it shows the balance in brackets (20.00). From a business perspective, this is correct - we owe the customer money.

But in reality, when we refer to customer accounts, it is actually the other way around. (20.00) means the customer owes the business money.

Is there an easy way to reverse this account behaviour for customer accounts and gift certificates ?

When we check a customer account and if the account balance is 20.00 it means customer should pay us 20. I think reversing it won't be right.

But I agree when we think like the operator there might be a confusion on payment screen. Since we should display gift credits as negative numbers they should think negative as positive :) Reversing it solves that problem but I don't like that solution.

Maybe we can add a setting like "balance display format" on entity types and use that format on payment screen.
