How to realize clear assessment?

At the beginning of every day, I need to input the amount of every menu item for sale.For example： Chicken soup, 100,which means chicken soup can be sold 100 portions today in my restuarent. If there is no chicken soup in my restaruant, I need to prompt the waiters that chicken soup cann't be ordered because of shortage.
