Serial model for Caller ID documentation?
« on: September 15, 2012, 12:36:14 pm »
Hello, I read a few posts on this forum about folks successfully using a modem as a caller ID device for displaying customer number on SambaPOS. Can someone please share their experience, how this was done?
Better yet, it would be great if we had some documentation on what hardware to use and how to install for SambaPOS.

Any help appreciated,
Thanks.

Hello. Using modem as caller id device feature is in progress. I hope to release a small update for that soon. Thanks.

Thanks. Do you think you'l be implementing support caller ID through a USB device or serial modem? Or which one do you think you'll finish first?

I don't think caller-id interface would be a problem since we access modem services through Windows TAPI.

If you need anyone to test the caller-id through modem, I'd be happy to be a guinea pig. I found a pci modem and tested it on my machine.
