Title: Cash Drawer
Post by: akumasan on July 20, 2012, 07:28:45 am
Hi there!

Hopefully just a quick question, really loving Samba POS - great software indeed! I have hunted through the forums but couldn't find an easy answer (though maybe I'm asking the wrong question!) :)

Basically, as a temporary measure for a replacement machine, I've installed on a bog-standard tower PC running Windows XP Professional - and I want to be able to plug the cash drawer into the COM port and get it to 'open' at the usual time (i.e. when someone pays). Could anyone possibly give me a heads-up as to how to configure/cable this?

Many thanks in advance for any assistance :)

You'll find all needed info here

Since your cash drawer connected to a com port you'll create a port printer, enter the port name and use this printer instead. Sending <XTC 7> or <XCT 27,112,48,55,121> should kick drawer. If these do not work you can search forums for different XTC codes that worked or visit here http://www.xcontractbridge.com/epos.htm (http://www.xcontractbridge.com/epos.htm)
