Title: Potential Setup
Post by: ABC-WPCafe on May 06, 2013, 10:01:33 am
Hi all,
Didn't know where to post this so I put it here to be on the safe side.

I am considering putting together a POS setup with this.

This will be driven by SambaPOS, running on an old laptop or something using either Windows XP or Linux.

What do you guys think?

Any known issues with any of that kit?
Am I doing something stupid?

:)

It looks like a good setup.
However it won't run on Linux. You'll need XP or Win7.

Before purchasing them I recommend you to install SambaPOS on your laptop and see if performance is good for you or not.

The hardware that I specified in the above post has all arrived and works ok. I have tested it with SambaPOS under Win 7 and XP.

The only problem was that the old laptops I was testing it on were a bit too old.  The main problem with them was speed of response on the touchscreen.

Now my main task is to get the software set up to work with my Cafe.

Good stuff!

Cheers everyone!
