Title: Work Period
Post by: otis on July 17, 2012, 01:37:20 pm
Is there any way to open and close work periods automatically.

In our restaurant, we open around 10 am and close at 11pm.  I would like to have the computer to start and end these periods without staff having to physically do it.

If the developer can add an Action Type which starts and ends Work Period, then you can do it. But currently I do not think its possible.

Hello, It is technically possible but it might create a confusion. To be able to end a work period all tickets should be closed. Doing it automatically might create a confusion since it won't be able to end a work period if some tickets left open.

Maybe displaying a reminder message box at 11pm for ending the work period might be a better solution.

I don't think you can delete work period. However, you can delete all data. just go to

http://forum2.sambapos.org/index.php/topic,267.0.html (http://forum2.sambapos.org/index.php/topic,267.0.html)

Read JohnS comments. He will show you the way.

Basically, install SQL server management studio, then open SQL Server Management Studio navigate to SambaData2 database, right click and create a new Query and paste in the contents of the file given by JohnS and Execute.

Thanks a lot but I find a similar solution. I download SQL editor and I remove the records ;)
