Customer Account Statements

Emre,

Are you planing any sort of a Customer Statement System in the very near future?

The only thing missing for my latest venture is being able to print statements.

I don't know how it should work. What should we do more than taking ticket notes?

I mean Customer Account Statements, so we can send to customers each month for payment.

We did something similar to send SMS message to notify payments. What should we print?

A statement of what they owe us.
We give a customer a line of credit, and the customer pays at the end of each month.

We need a Balance Brought Forward from previous month, and a list of any purchases and payments for the current month.

When you filter by month and print you'll see balance brought from previous month and this months transactions. But I know you already know that so I think you need something additional. Can you tell me what feature should we implement? Do you need purchases by product?

1. We need 'Ticket No' listed in Description to be able to link a line on the printout to an actual sale. Currently it lists
'Customer Account Transaction [Sheather Computer Services - Acct]'

2. It would be nice to have the first line say
'Balance Brought Forward'

3. We need Customer details listed, like postal address. Basically we need to be able to customise the header of the printout like we do Ticket Printer Receipts, but keeping in mind that we will be using laser printers.

4. Because it prints the current month, we may not do statements until the new month, so we need to be able to print for the last month instead.

5. Can we automate the printing of accounts to happen on the last day of the month?


Note - In regards to 4. I have an Account Screen for Customers, showing Details, and when I select a Customer and click Account Details it shows the full account history, not just a period like Month.

I have just tested with some historical data to get a feel for what the Account Screens are displaying.

Having Customer Account screen filter set to Month shows their running balance only for the current month, but when you go to Account Details it shows all transactions for the Customer.

The way we would use this is to set the Customer Account screen to filter All to see what their total Account Balance is, not just for the current month, but be able to print only their Monthly transactions.

In Account Details we need a way to print by period like, Current Week, Current Month, Last Month, etc

I have done more testing and can not get the filtering to work correctly.

I have a 'Customer' Account Screen with Filter Type set to Month. The Customer balance is calculated on the months transactions only. When I click Account Details, it shows all historical transactions for the customer.

This should really work the other way around. The Customer Account Screen should show the Customers actual balance, and Account Details should show Balance Brought Forward and the current months transactions.

Account Transaction screen filtering can be configured through account type.
