Hello,
I am using Epson TN-T88IV Serial port printer with Epson Advanced Printer driver for Windows.  Printing is very slow but when I test on printer directly (using feed button while starting), it prints very fast.

My Settings are
Baud rate:38400
Parity: None
bit: 1
XX: DTR/DTS*

any help would be appreciated.

Is it slow if you print a Windows test page or other document ?

Is there a draft setting for the printer that you can use in the printer templates?

Check you have the correct printer type set in SambaPos.

My Epson was doing that when I changed from my test database to production and I set the printer but did not change it to a Ticket Printer.

How do I set the 'printer type set'? Below are my printer settings and have done same on EPOSN printer driver and COM1 port under Devices.

John,
Yes, it does print slow with Windows test page but it is very fast if printed using Feed button on the printer so printer settings are fine.
I did not see any draft settings.

DQ,

Sounds like you may have the wrong printer driver or wrong emulation set. It is not a SambaPOS issue if it is slow with a Windows test print.

Using the feed button to make the printer do a test print does not use the printers interface - you are printing directly from the printers firmware.

Make sure the Printer Type is set to Ticket Printer. Goto Manage -> Settings -> Printers and double click on your receipt printer.

You could also try the following COM settings to speed things up, but 38K should be fast enough.
Speed : 115200
Data bits : 8
Parity : None
Stop Bit : 1
Flow Control : None

I uninstalled and reinstalled EPSON Advanced 4 drivers and now work fine.
