Does SAMBA POS support USB Pole Displays?
« on: July 26, 2013, 01:15:46 am »
I dont see why it wont as you would simply install the pole display as a printer with the driver cd and set the pole display as a ticket printer.

I just wanted to make sure that it does not have to be a port printer to work correctly?

It depends on how the driver behaves and the compatibility of the Pole Display.
I have not used USB Pole Displays, they have been all serial, but I have used them with a Serial to USB adapters which acts as a COM port - hence Port Printer.

If the Pole Display is ESC compatible then it should run OK as a ticket printer, but no guarantees.

My guess would be that if the Pole Display comes in Serial as well as USB models, then you will control it via COM ports.
