Getting started and setting up a database
« on: January 29, 2012, 09:16:47 am »
So I've been playing around with sambapos so far and it seems perfect so I'm going to set up a terminal with it on and have a live trial.

Whats the best way to set up the database and also is there any way of transferring the settings I've done to a different database?

I've only set up a few things so far, using the compact sql database that installed when I started.  Ideally though I'll be using a few terminals and a few handhelds so is it best to use sql server express straight away as recommended in the documentation?  And should I just start fresh with the live version or can I transfer any of the work that I've done to a different database?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

The best way is to create a backup of the database before you start.

See this link for info.
