Sad Day
« on: March 21, 2012, 08:11:58 pm »
Hi all, I have spent time setting up and have thought that this is a fantastic active project. So have invested a lot of time to setup the menus and recipes etc and had planned to take all the kit to the cafe today. I started at 10pm with plans for some final price tweeks but the system is throwing exceptions when I login cant find any info to know where to look. I downloaded the latest version which ran after install but after exiting it will not run so any ideas as to what to do please advise. I dont know what caused it and have no idea how to fix

Any help Please

Update it

if it is 2.91 send the error report.

Error report says "The printer name is invalid". That's the printer that executes by a rule. Can you access management?

OK. I've converted that error to a notification. You should be able to access management now.
Download 2.91a

Check that the Pole Display is on the correct COM port. When you move a USB device to a new port, Windows will give you a new COM port number for it.

I am trying to use a posiflex 302 which is a serial device and is plugged into COM1 but no joy yet have all the templates and stuff configured from the excellent forum posts but not quite got it to work yet. The port is configured right speed etc any pointers would be appreciated but thx for the help so far.

You should be able to send text to it from a DOS prompt

echo Hello >COM1

If that does work, then its a windows problem, not SambaPOS. My pole displays don't require a driver, in fact they where harder to use with a driver installed.
Note - Make sure that the command group in the pole display is set to Automatic if possible.
