Printer problem
« on: February 20, 2013, 11:21:28 am »
Hi
I have bought POSIFLEX PP-8000U and connect with via USB port with windows 7 tablet. I tried to make it work with samba pos; however, the error message show up when I hit the 'print bill' button.

Error Message:
The given port name does not start with COM/com or does not resolve to a valid serial port
Parameter name: portName

This is the printer setting.
Port Name: Posiflex PP8000 partial cut v3.01
Printer Type: port printer

I attempted to switch between the other printer type. The printer only responses to the "printer type: text". Is anyone have the same problem or any suggestion. Thank you

Whenever I have set up a physical printer in SambaPos I have used the type Ticket Printer.

Is this printer set up to print in ESC/POS mode (I think DIP switch 3 needs to be set to off on this printer) as SambaPOS print templates use ESC/POS commands.

A Text Printer is for non ESC/POS mode and certain options - like bold printing are unavailable in this mode.
